Costa Rica’s Top 3 Zipline destinations

Costa Rica zipline destinations

So you have big dreams of a Tarzan-like adventure in Costa Rica. You want to soar through the treetops on a zip-line, but you’re not quite sure where to go. We’re here to help! We’ve picked out the top places to have you touring this lush land, high in the air. Here are our favorite places to zip-line in Costa Rica.

Monteverde

Monteverde is known for it’s gorgeous cloud forests. Named by Newsweek as the #14 place to visit in the world before it disappears, it’s a favorite among travelers. These thick, moist clouds are formed when the warm trade winds of the Atlantic ocean cross over the Contnental divide and hit the cooler mountains of Monteverde. They are then pushed up and condense into thick, moist clouds that engulf the forest. At nearly 100% humidity, these clouds provide the area with around twelve feet of rain a year!  This environment invites all sorts of life into the area.

The forest is think with greenery from the ground floor to the upper canopy – and even on the tree trunks in between. You can imagine how amazing it is to see all of this from your birds eye view right up in the trees. You’ll walk along rope and wooden bridges and, of course, zip-line between as well. We take our travelers on a tour that sees them at heights up to 328 feet and zipping at speeds of up to 40 mph. Proceeds from your entrance fee go back in to preserving the forest and aiding local education. This eco adventure with a local benefit is not to be missed.

Arenal

For adrenaline junkies, you’ll want to head to Arenal, where you not only get to zip-line through the treetops, but you get to have an active volcano view as well. This perfectly cone shaped peak looms over the area, regularly smoking in the distance. You’ll be safe in the nearby town of La Fortuna, and have a great view of the volcano! While you’re in the area, you’ll also definitely want to visit the hot springs. After your high flying adventure, it feels great to soak those muscles.

Manuel Antonio

Manuel Antonio National Park has just about everything. It’s the go to place for those wanting it all. Famous for it’s white sand beaches and colorful coral reefs, visitors here definitely take advantage of some beach time. Since it’s also set in a tropical forest, you’ll also be able to spot wildlife, white water raft and zip-line. This park is the smallest in the country, but really packs a punch when it comes to wildlife. It boats 109 mammal species and 184 bird species. With all of this to offer, it makes the perfect destination to choose when planning your Costa Rica zip-lining tour.
